Completed in early 2017, this home features three levels that are divided in two living units. The main unit features 3 large bedrooms, each with an individual walk-in closet, 4 bathrooms, and an open living area. Access to the main floor terrace from the living room is provided by a large sliding door system with close to 20 ft. of glazing, offering incredible light and a great view of the mountain range in the distance. The cellar level unit can be used as a mortgage helper or as quarters for a multi-generational family. It features 2 ample bedrooms and 1 bathroom, and the living area can access a large ground-level patio that extends the living space and bridges to the outside.
Yet the most striking feature of this home is its incredible energy efficiency and mechanical systems, offering Net Zero Energy efficiency. Building on BONE Structure’s incomparable thermal envelope, this home features a 10 kw solar array on the roof to provide most of this home’s energy needs, a rainwater system for irrigation and flushing as well as air and water radiant heat pumps. An electric vehicle charging station is also included, making this home incredibly efficient without compromising luxury or lifestyle.
“I read a magazine and saw a picture of one of their homes. It was love at first sight. I like ultramodern style, and I wanted an all-glass house because my property is on a lake. A week later, I was at a client’s home. She and her husband were rebuilding their cottage and her husband, who is an engineer, recommended BONE Structure. They showed me their website, and I called BONE Structure the next day.” – Client

With the thermal envelope fully assembled, industry guests and media were able to visit the home under construction before interior and exterior finishes are applied, exposing the unique benefits of the BONE Structure system. Speakers at the event included Marc Bovet, CEO and cofounder of BONE Structure, Todd Talbot, TV Personality and Entrepreneur, and Jason De Los Santos from Terra Mechanical Ltd. & TERRAMechomes Ltd.
A BareBONE event followed during the weekend of of July 16-17, with over 500 people in attendance, introducing North Vancouver to an innovative way of building green, high-performance homes. This is the first BONE Structure home in Metropolitan Vancouver – joining projects in Whistler, Kelowna and Fort St-John – and the first BONE Structure Net Zero Energy efficient home in British Columbia.
